End of Year

Day 30 and 31.....

I know we went up to Day 30 in the last post but really day 30 was yesterday so  it kind of got thrown in the mix. LOL..... It was Monday, my office day, however I did take the time to sip some hot chocolate with my best friend and I went out and got a new haircut....

Now I'm ready for 2014....hahahaha

So today is day 31 as we embarked on a new blog challenge starting Dec. 1st.... 
Not sure which is easier, getting the blog up for the day before the next morning, or trying to get it up at end of day....... ( or in some cases the wee hours for that previous day)

Any way it works, it will get up here. Let's get moving in 2014 both physically and mentally.... 
We all can use a bit of "healthy" in our lives no matter what stage we are in.....

Up to Day 30 !

Well Christmas Day has come and gone yet we still find ourselves in the Holiday Spirit, getting ready to ring in a New Year. I must say this week has been as busy as the whole year has been in one fell swoop !

I hope you all enjoyed your Holiday, whatever you celebrate, and find yourselves in good health, wealth and happiness for the coming year.

I've been pushing myself hard these last few weeks ( well, let's say harder than usual !) and the past few days have taken a toll on my body. My brain says go for it and my body says, "Are you kidding me or what??? "

So today I stayed in bed most of the day.... watching the Hallmark Channel and enjoying some peace and quiet !  I'm s sucker for these cool holiday movies ! ( Well , movies in general)

Christmas day we went to see SAVING MR. BANKS.  I found that movie to be quite enjoyable and I love movies that revolve around true stories. I think they are the best stories as they come from very real experiences....

Today I also stumbled across some old family photos and I took a little time to reflect on my life when I was looking them over.

Also this week, I got to volunteer at the Life in Color event..... WOW ! It was crazy good fun. Extremely taxing on my body but enjoyable and for a good cause.

Let's keep our minds on our sights for the New Year and what we want to accomplish both personally and professionally. Remember we are adding our health and wellness segment to this blog and we will be jumping into that early in the New Year. Today I did leg exercises and meditated.  Take the time for YOU !  Close out the Year with great memories and bring in the New Year with an open hear and open mind to create new ones !

A Time for the Season

Days 20, 21, 22, 23, 24 ( including Sunday - Our day of Change !)

Good Morning.....

This time of year proves to be, in some respect, not much different than other times of the year...BUSY!
Ok, maybe it's a little busier around the holidays .....  For me it's always busy !  LOL

What did you do leading up to Christmas? Event if it is not a holiday you celebrate, there are always busy times around this time of year and around whatever it is you DO celebrate.

I never really grew up with Christmas.  To me, it's a time of MAGIC ! It's a time a miracles and strange happenings , it's a time of family and love. I celebrate it in a more spiritual way than some. No matter what, I have always loved this time of year. I love the way people act around each other and I always wish that it would spread throughout the year. After all, we all live on the same planet....well, most of us anyway !

Over the weekend and early this week, we had 2 of our beautiful singers, Carleigh and Juliana perform at the Malelani Cafe in Ventnor.

They did an AMAZING job singing Holiday tunes sprinkled with some of their favorite movie songs !
Thank you girls, YOU ROCK !
George, you are pretty cool too !!!   

Then the next day it was off to New York again..... finally made it to Bryant Park this holiday Season however we went up so late that everything was closed there. We did get to walk through it though. I still leaned on a ledge and admired the City from one of my favorite place. 
One good thing about going in late is you avoid traffic ! Ha Ha.... easy pisi getting in and out.

Of course, I had to see THE Tree again, and walk around to some of the usual places. Nice to have Keith with us this year !  One of my favorite moments was taking this one under the tree.....

No matter what you celebrate....make it a time of love and life !!!!

What happened to Mon./Tues./Wed./Thurs. ???

Days 16, 17, 18, 19...

.... I seem to wake up and it's Friday.....WHAT is up with that ! Do you feel that way too?
Ok... so let's get into it.....

I'm sure at this time of year, everything is a big blur. No matter what you celebrate there is always something going on this time of year. This is one of the reasons we need to make sure we "Stop and smell the roses" so to say.

Make sure you are getting your stretched in or doing that 5 min. of something healthy. Not sure what to do? Walk for 5 min. An average regular paced walk for 15 min. is all your body really needs.... so let's start with 5. Now remember, I'm giving you til the New Year to actually hone in on the healthy 5 minutes. ( If you need that time). We want to be prepared so when Blue Monday comes, we are not Blue and we haven't given up on our goals......
In the meantime, you can also check out our healthy coffee line.... 2 blends:  Weight Loss/ Energy and Mind.... exciting weight loss Tea will be added to the line early in the New Year so stay tuned for that.


Holiday parties and socializing were the name of the game these past few days. Monday we are heading back to NY for Bryant Park and the tree !

Days 14, 15

Days 14 and 15.... 

Saturday was so tiring from the weekend gig. Just wanted to crawl into bed and stay there. LOL

I did go "light looking" for a bit. Very disappointing that the house on Sooy lane, known for it's charitable work and amazing light show for the holidays, is not up this year. I think if it's not up by now that it won't be. 

I have some ideas to go out and find new places to see lights. I fell in love with this house in Absecon a few years ago. It doesn't have the music attached to it but the home is absolutely gorgeous. I'll be posting some of these places this week.  I hope you are planning on something new and exciting this holiday season.

Days 11, 12, 13

Days 11, 12, 13

You know I hate when the days run together but this time of year it is just how it is. I'm sure it's hectic for you too so I greatly appreciate it when you take a moment to stop by.  

This week has been fun as we got new phones as our gifts to each other so I'm enjoying playing around with that..... the same day we got the phones, we went up to NY to see the beautiful tree in Rockefeller Center.

I have to say it's one of my favorite places. I also love Bryant Park. We didn't get to there as it was just so cold and it was already late as the story just thickens as to why we got into the City so late.....

....so..... we are planning another trip in with a small group of people to see the tree again and make to my fav. places like St. Patty's Cathedral and of course, Bryant Park.

Still working on stretches so by the New Year I can start into something a little heavier.  I've been off on my weight loss coffee too. With all the running I just didn't find the time to drink it. I have to work on that for it needs to be done regularly to lose the weight. At least it's all natural.

Day 10

For Day 10...

Well, we had a beautiful snowfall this day. I love to watch it fall................that's about it !!  I hate driving  in it or trying to get around. Honestly, if I wasn't so close to NY City, I'd probably be living in warmer weather....
I don't mind the cold so much, I just like to be able to get around by car. LOL
I made to our South Jersey Network meeting, wasn't too bad getting there. While we were there, we all got to see how beautiful the snow was falling..... meeting in a Country Club with the big picture windows !
A small group of us hung around and had our own little networking session after most everyone had left. By the time we all got done, the sun had come out ! Yay !  I loved seeing the whole transformation !

Speaking of transformation, how are we doing on starting our fitness goals !  Make an effort, even if it's just 5 min. a day . Remember, you can always make a comment here about what and how you are doing.

I used to work out all the time. Miss that.... I guess as our bodies get older, even if we have the right mindset, we need to adjust. I've been doing stretches in the morning. Want to get my body ready to do more than that.....

I spent a little time shopping yesterday too. It felt good. I also donated 2 full bags of groceries to the food bank for Art and myself at our meeting . ( I may have mentioned that).... Boy did that feel good to do THAT.

Day 9

For Day 9

So Monday is my office day and I wanted to NOT do offfice work, but just take in each moment after the day on Sunday. That's what I did. I have to admit that I did do a little work on the computer but mostly I watched a couple of movies, went our for lunch with my Sister and my Niece , and of course listened to the wheels as they spun around in my head for the next great thing ! LOL

I went to the store and shopped for the Food Bank. We do a food drive at our networking group each year around the holidays.

A little later, I thought,  " I want to do something for our group".......... just a little something at the meeting. Something just subtle and cute. So I went out to the local CVS and I looked and looked....
Well, I love bells.... ( I love that saying that every time a bell rings an angel gets its wings !)  I wonder, for I was ringing these little bells for quite some time. Maybe we get extra angel wings around the holidays !
Ha Ha

I found these great bell ornaments. I really didn't want to sit and put the little strings on each of the 60 bells that I bought. ( but I did). I went home, flipped into a holiday movie and put all the little strings on.....

I just felt good................

I also had my healthy coffee and did some stretching......

Days 6, 7, 8....

Fril Dec. 6th - Sat. Dec. 7th - Sun. Dec. 8th

Wow ! weekend was cray cray with the snow and all.....

Now, I'm having phone trouble.... what else is new. Wasn't able to transfer the photos I wanted to but let's get to it anyway....

I went to the bank and on the floor in the rain was a candy wrapper..... that wrapper was shaped like a heart. It was so weird. I had to get a photo of it but it didn't come out too well. It was right by my door getting into and out of the car..... funny !

Saturday I spent getting ready for event and nursing a shoulder/neck pain... ( Thanks, Bill for your help)
I did take time to clear my mind and focus on the positive... If nothing else, make time for that..... :)

Sunday is our day of change.... so let's get back into saving that change for a rainy day ( or snowy day) LOL.... seriously....save as long as you can and see what happens. Remember to put it into an envelope and put it away somewhere.... just remember where you put it.

That all said, Sunday we had our first ever STEPS event. Succs Talks from Extraordinary Platform Speakers with JENNY PERRY, TONY DODY, & TERESSA MOORE GRIFFIN !

Amazing...... people came out in the snow..... first it was snow/rain, then it was snow, then it was rain....just a hot mess !  Thank you all who attended including JoAnn Dearden , SEW WITH JO, Debra Sorg , Tastefully Simple, Toni Murphy, IT WORKS !    PNC Bank....
Also to our break out speakers.... Erin of Main Spring Social Media...... Andrea of Doterra essential oils.... Bill.... Massage Therapist.....

Day 5

Dec. 5th entry:

So I have also decided to get on here first thing in the morning . Much easier and maybe I won't have to combine too many days this way ! LOL

So this entry is for Dec. 5th, Day 5.....

As we add this health and wellness aspect, I find myself with a big pain in the neck! NO, I DON'T MEAN MY FAMILY..............(kidding guys)
Seriously, just a sharp pain running from my neck down to my shoulder blade...... using natural treatment and getting to Doc. Brown on Monday . It actually feels a little better today but I just got up and the day is young!

I did a little stretching today. My shoulder and neck is inhibiting that a little................

Also, had the pleasure of brainstorming with Michelle as we put together a regular segment of coffee tastings for Coffee Thursdays !

Also sent our our 4 A STAR insider newsletter, Press Releases for a 3rd time for our 1st annual STEPS event coming up this Sunday and kept quite busy.  Our first ever STEPS event ( Success Talks from Extraordinary Platform Speakers) featuring
JENNY PERRY---TONY DODY-- & TERESSA MOORE GRIFFIN 

This is the first annual event and it's keeping me quite busy spreading the word......

Starting anew in December....

Dec. 3rd and 4th...

So for our new challenge we are at Day 4

We are now adding in our Health and Wellness portion of the challenge ! ( Bill, this is right up your alley !)
We have several health professionals that have come together to  bring a new excitement to health/ Wellness and all the things we look to early in the New Year..... WE are just getting a jump on it so your New Year's Resolutions can go to something else now ! LOL

Firs off , we will post the site of the new Healthy/ Weight Loss coffee at top of each blog from this day forward. If you know anyone or even you yourself that drinks coffee, this is fabulous.... you can even just go there and learn about all the good herbs and things being brought to us in ways to nourish our bodies.....

Next, Really beat myself up these past few weeks. Tough when you wear all the hats and I'm sure many of you can relate. My body is just screaming at me. I've been trying to get some extra sleep lately ! ( like the past 2 nights ! LOL....just going to bed weary but sleeping longer !)

I also had the wonderful opportunity to visit the brand new A/C bottle company restaurant Monday eve.
Here, we did a great photo shoot for one of our upcoming books featuring the cooks, Gabby and Michelle. Shout out to our photographer for the evening, Robert Redstar of Redstar Photography...

After the shoot, the cooks served up some portobello mushrooms and some eggplant salad dip to the folks coming in for the wine event. Not to mention we had some great wines along with that.

It was an exciting , special evening for all !

So let's get moving....both physically and mentally as we approach the end of the year and look forward to a bright 2014.

So Here we go !!!!   Brand New 365 Day challenge.....or let's say from Dec. 1st/2nd....to Dec. 1st/2nd next year.....

I found that the interim of the blog didn't go so well, and the end of the blog became challenging as far as posting up for everyone..... It doesn't matter..... what matters is that you enjoy what you read and that you find something in it to make your own life better. Isn't that what we all want? Something interesting in our lives...... So let's begin and see where it takes us this time around. I think I still like the "5-10 min. of doing something you haven't done in awhile or have always wanted to try"......however, we are going to add our health and wellness aspect this time. What????  Yep..... no matter what stage of your life you are in, you always want to be a little healthier....especially these days, yes?  So here is how I'm going to handle it, and we are all getting a jump on "New Year's Resolutions". We will already be doing something so we can resolve to do something else this coming year ! LOLOL

We are adding a health and wellness aspect of 4 A STAR. With the expertise of Bill Curry, Tony Dody and several others in the field.... This way if you have questions, we can get some answers, if you have real needs, we can hook you up with the right people, and so on.....

So now, we will use our 5-10 minutes to do several things....
1. continue with the "something different and interesting " theme
2. WALK
                         5 - 10 minutes....just walk....that's it....
3. Add some exercise in that you love.....

We will star with just 5-10 min.... that's it.... and let's see what happens by next Dec.

We will keep our "Day of Change" on Sunday ... I will be cashing that out in August for my yearly convention as I did last time.

Let's strive to lead a healthier life.... even if it just starts with 5 minutes !
