Bobblehead series # 4

Welcome to the 4th installment of our Bobblehead blog series....this day, we are talking doggies....well, one particular breed of doggie, the mini-schnauzer..... why? Well, that is the doggie we have now and here is her story......

Angel, as we call her, came to us with quite the search.... my hubby was recently in 2 car accidents and life just wasn't going the way we wanted it to be.... it still isn't, yet Angel helps and we are connecting with the Universe for our next adventure......
I wanted us to have a dog again. I grew up with dogs, birds etc... and I missed having a dog. I also knew in my heart that a dog would bring much added stress relief to our lives, especially my husband. So I was on a mission to find a doggie...... went to several rescue places and just didn't find what I was looking for..... I met my good friend's sons dog.... a mini  schnauzer and fell in love..... So I finally found a Schnauzer rescue and got a hold of someone after awhile..... they just didn't have any dogs !!! They said they could put me on a waiting list yet it could be a year..... waaaaa..... so I proceeded to tell this woman my story and about my hubby's accidents etc.....she then recommended a friend of hers that had retired show dogs...and she thought she had 2 left.....

Long story a little shorter, I made contact, drove 2 hours to meet the 2 doggies, and Angel is the one that jumped up on me..... the rest is history..... she has brought so much joy to our lives since Christmas when we got her officially.....

Now, she is a service dog and we take her to 2 nursing homes in our area.... see a couple of the beautiful pics as our Angel blesses our lives and the lives of others.....  I actually found a schnauzer Bobblehead and that is how our Angel comes to the blog series we are doing for six months......

                                                                           Angel Above.....

Angel Below at one of our Nursing home visits......

Fun facts about Schnauzers:
Intelligent, mischievous and often stubborn
Full of Life
Low shedding (practically none)
Should groom them every 5-8 weeks
They prefer to spend time in the company of loved ones
They adore their family !

Stay tuned as we continue our bobblhead blog series and thanks for checking in !

Bobblehead Blog 3

Welcome to the 3rd installment of the "Bobblehead Blog" 6 month mini series....

I am now obsessed with these bobbleheads... LOL....  Hope you enjoy them and a little blurb that goes along with....

This is one of my favorite ones so far. (Although I like them all !)

"Rosie the Riveter is an allegorical cultural icon in the United States who represents the women who worked in factories and shipyards during World War 11 (2) ...
...many of whom produced munitions and war supplies...
These women sometimes took entirely new jobs-replacing the male workers who joined the military"
Google

I find it so interesting to learn about the cultural aspect of Women's positions - in various fields - as men were headed off to the military.

Rosie the Riveter is iconic...and now she makes our 3rd entry in the Bobblehead Blog series !

Bobblehead Blog Series

So excited about my new bobblehead collection and series to bring you !  Each week we will be doing a short blog about our interesting bobbleheads and some of the stories behind them or some story that relates to them....

This week I located 2 interesting bobbles.... This one is so stinking cute !

So he's talking about being Irish.... I know we are all Irish on St. Patty's Day....maybe we'll all be Irish when we read this week's blog !

Let's just look at some fun things when it comes to Ireland....

Ireland is famous for it's scenic coastlines, with towns and villages along the beautiful shorelines.

Most of these coastline towns are located in the West of Ireland, mainly in the Province of Munster.

One of the famous landmarks in Ireland is the Cliffs of Moher !

A fun tidbit is that Waterford is the smallest city in Ireland yet it's the oldest one !

Founded in 324 AD by the Vikings

It is also the warmest city and it is a popular surging destination....

As our cute little "old" bobblehead raises his glass, we recite one of the most famous of Irish Blessings....

" May the road rise up to meet you

May you always have the wind at your back

May the Sun shine warm upon your face

May the rains fall soft upon your fields

                     AND....

 Until we meet again,

May God hold you in the palm of his hand"

Thank you for joining us in our 6 month bobblehead mini-series....

6 month mini-series....

Hey hey hey everyone! Welcome to our exciting 6-month miniseries...

BOBBLEHEAD BLOGS

With The release of the brand new Elvis movie I am so excited to present the first in our 6-month series of bobbleheads and stories, ELVIS...

So a group of us went to see the new Elvis movie. It was so well done and thought provoking. If you are a true Elvis fan you will walk away with things to think about

.

I
In attendance at the theater were some of my friends including radio Hall of famer, GERI PETITO and teen inspiring mentor and founder of Mr Panting productions,
MARCO PANTING
We had much to discuss after the show and I encourage you to go and see the new movie

If you are a new Elvis fan you must do a little more digging to understand the relationship that was being portrayed between Colonel Tom Parker and Elvis. It was a fiery relationship and there are pros and cons to all the factors in it.

Nothing changes the fact that Elvis was an ultimate entertainer and was called to the stage by a higher being....

Elvis Presley- born in Tupelo Mississippi on January 8th ,1935 and passed away on August 16th, 1977 at the young age of 42.

His legacy lives on today for many....If you get the opportunity , take a visit to Graceland- it is a place that is magical and you will never forget what you see there.

Today, I celebrate The independence of our country and the beginning of our Six-month bobblehead series starting out with the amazing Elvis Presley.

There will be 24 bobbleheads in the series that will close out at Christmas time... Enjoy the stories behind these bobbleheads. Stay tuned for what we will do with the bobbleheads after the 6-month series is over.

Welcome to the balcony blogger 6 month mini series and bobblehead blogs!!!
