A NEW DAY

A new day has begun...........................10/29/15

First, I want to thank all of you for your patience and support throughout the years. Especially these last few months as I recently got married and was away most of the Summer. We are turning a corner and have been travelling a lot so I have not had much time to connect, re connect, or blog about anything.... Vegas was Awesome, Santa Fe was amazing along with our new friends and associates Karen Bomm and family..... Texas always a blast and of course, Atlantic City Fashion Week with my friends Jeana and LaMont Bowling.... 

Today is the 7th Anniversary of 4 A STAR and a lot has happened over the years.  We are still climbing and today I have the honor and privilege of announcing our collaboration with International  Fashion Designer, SAMINA MUGHAL

We will be representing the Samina Mughal Collection . See some of her amazing clothing below....

Stay tuned for more to come from the fashion World.... We will be discussing the stages of our new line of purses to hit the internet and boutiques next year..... 

Right now , we celebrate 4 A STAR and Samina Mughal.... My congratulations also go out to Samina for being one of the designers in the 1st annual Dallas Fashion Week.... Samina appeared on Good Morning Texas and we have a clip for you below as well. 

Friday will be our blog day.....came on today for the Anniversary special and the announcement of our joint efforts with the Samina Mughal Collection.... 

We will be "photo" shooting something from the Samina Mughal Collection in various cities across the Tri-State area.... stay tuned to see WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU !!!!!!

Who inspires you ? I got a message from a friend of mine concerning a blog on Bruce Springsteen. Interesting.... of course, being a Springsteen fan, I was curious.... It is so cool ! I believe it's on a concert blogger page . Here is the first installment....

What inspires you???

What inspires you???

So let's talk for a moment about Inspiration.....where do your ideas come from? What inspires you to not just think about something but to take action. 

I'm making the executive decision to nix the challenge at this point. At least THAT challenge. I think the inspiration was there for the first one and then pulling that off again became a challenge and a lack of inspiration for the blog part. NOT for the doing..... I do something crazy different almost every day and I hope you do too. I think we can go back in the archives and be "re-inspired" if need be for some really cool things that took place along the initial challenge. 

Since then, I have also done some cool things....just getting the time to blog about it has become a challenge. So my inspirational thought to you is to continue to find those things that take you out of your daily routine and onto some cool adventure, game, idea or a re-visit of something fun. 

Now...we move forward with new inspiration and new roads to travel. 

My partner and I are starting a line of handbags and accessories that will hopefully be out next year this time.... ( shooting for a Spring Launch).  They will be based around empowerment with some very cool ideas..... So stay tuned for that.... In the meantime, let me leave you with one small clue....

Really???? Days 35-37

Days 35-37  Really???

(37 is our Day of change)

Let's just take a minute to reflect on life.... do you do that occasionally???
I want to talk about random acts of kindness  for I am still so amazed how we say..... "They do it for their people...."   Well who is "they"? We often ask ourselves that , yes?  And why are we still doing this? It's a shame to see some of the things .

I think there is so much hatred out there.....that said.....there is ALSO so much good. People are doing good everyday and making a difference. If we stop, and let the hatred take over.....SHAME ON ALL OF US....

So for now,  Perform a random act of kindness..... not just around the holidays, but whenever you can.....
Make it contagious.....

Educate your children.  ( Not the education they get in school or from "a school". )
Educate on decent behavior, respecting others, and standing up for something !
Educate, Educate, Educate.

Learn............ Learn everyday, even if you think you know it all.

.... and always take a minute to reflect.

I've said this a million times if not once. BE THE CHANGE YOU WANT TO SEE IN THE WORLD.
DO IT WITH KINDNESS
DO IT WITH PRIDE
DO IT WITH A POSITIVE OUTLOOK SO IT SPREADS LIKE WILDFIRE

Catch the Spirit ! Day 34

Hello,

What a long day ! Aren't they all !  It's so nice to see the spirit of the Holidays coming up in the form of  LIGHTS !  I just love the lights this time of year.  As you know, my favorite home to see is the house on SOOY Lane !

I had the most wonderful opportunity to meet the home-owners. Connie Havens and Charles Auchter. I can't believe I was invited into their home. How special was that ??? !!!!

Dec. 1st was the magical day to see the lights for the 1st time this Season......what??? No Lights !!!!!
Beautiful lights were replaced with Rain !  The lights don't go on in the rain and I imagine that there are just so many outside connections and things going on that it would not be good to run them in the rain.  Dec. 2nd..... rain.... Dec. 3rd....rain.... what a crock !

So tonight, on what would have been my Dad's birthday, I took a few minutes to go see the lights on this clear night ! I was once again, blown away ! A few new features added this year. The pics don't even do it justice ! From the precision of the dancing trees to the spectacular music and light show, the house on SOOY Lane is just in a league of its own.  If you are in this area, I urge you to visit the magical lights at SOOY Lane this Season .

Let me see how many times I get to venture over there. On the 21st and 22nd , Santa will be stopping by to hand out hot chocolate too !  
Don't forget the donation box outside. These funds stay local to families touched by Cancer.

Thank you Connie and Charles for sharing this beautiful vision with us! Thank you for inviting me into your home.  What a joy it is to see the lights. For me, it is so calming and relaxing. Tonight I ventured out there alone, to have my time with the lights and do my few minutes ...... I was in anticipation since Thanksgiving ! ( well really since last year... LOL)

....and the photo below is of the house next door. The only thing they have up is the light in this window..... I couldn't get that close but if you can focus on it , you will see it is the "leg" lamp from
 A CHRISTMAS STORY.....gotta love it...... it's FRAGILE ( or  FRA-GIL-A )  LOL

The holiday hurry ! Days 28-33

"The holiday hurry!" Days 28-33

Wow ! Why does it seem like as soon as Halloween hits...the year seems to fly by like a shot !
Thanksgiving was great this year. Got to celebrate it twice !  That's always special to have time with different family members and friends.....

Remember Sunday is our Day of change..... (That was my 2nd TG dinner with family, too !)

These few days were quite interesting....

Got to watch a couple of sunrises, met a few ducks as they blocked the road for me to cross.... and even had the wonderful opportunity to meet the owner of the house on SOOY Lane. So excited that it will be up again this Season. The first night was supposed to be the 1st, but as it rained, the lights were dark...and it rained the past couple of days, too.

I will be reporting on those lights as soon as I can see them lit. Let's hope tomorrow eve. will be the night to light !

We started our Javita weight loss challenge this week too.... and we will be talking about that too !

Today the trees were lit in both Philadelphia and New York.... will be taking the NY trip on the 15th !

Happy Thanksgiving...don't stop giving ! Day 27

Day 27

Hello, Thanksgiving falls on my favorite # this year, 27 !  I want to take a  moment to say Happy Thanksgiving to all of you that celebrate this holiday and just Happy "Thanks" to those of you around the World reading our blog and taking our blog challenge.

Today I was up early doing the weekend "gig". Only worked an hour . I spent a couple of hours with a friend who has his MOM in the hospital. He is going through a tough time with her . That said, he is quite dedicated and concerned about her health and well being . That is so admirable today. Not to get into it, but I spent some time with him, had a bite to eat with him and was there so he wasn't alone.  On the way, I had the opportunity to , once again, see the SUNRISE.  It was barely turning light out as I traveled down the Black Horse Pike into Atlantic City. The cool thing was that there were no cars around me at all so I propped the phone up on the steering wheel and with one hand snapped this shot ! I'm so glad I did, it's just a cool shot. Sorry it's not as clear as I would have liked but I WAS driving..... like I said , no one around me at all....empty roads, it was so beautiful !

I also drove down to Sooy Lane. If you've been following or viewing this blog you may remember that the House on SOOY lane is the one that decorates to the NINES and gives back to local charities. People come in droves to this house. That said, they don't set up the lights every year and last year was a big disappointment to me as I love going there to watch the lights and music and relax. So I drove down the dark street to see if anything at all was going on. I figured that if the lights were to be up this year, that SOME stirring would be going on there on Thanksgiving...... Well, it was around 5:20 AM and drove and saw an empty lawn and felt a little down....then I realized I was 2 lawns away !!!!   When I saw the lights strung up in the dark I got so happy and stopped to clap my hands and sigh out loud. The Sooy lane house will be bright this year and I will have photos and stories to share from there this Holiday Season.......

In the meantime, Happy Turkey, Give thanks wherever you are, and we will talk again soon !
